It really does pick up dog hair well, it doesn’t pick up flat things like bits of paper very well and the size of what it pickup is limited by the port size, but it does one heck of a job with dog hair and dirt. On flat surfaces it doesn’t “scrub” the floor where there might be small creases like our old one did. So that’s a small trade off and when it’s full, it just flat stops sucking quick and kicks out dust just like our old one.

The dog hair doesn’t snag up like it did in the old one and the size of the “bucket” so to speak, it holds a lot.
So if dog hair is your main issue, get one of these. Beats using a shop vac by far. I paid for the in between one without the light because the price for that added on wasn’t fair, imo. I bought the mid grade one.

For starters, once I received this vac this morning I had to try it right away. Was literally a snap to put together. It picked up everything & then some. When I went to empty it out I read the manual & saw that you can remove the inside plastic filter/tube, by turning it clockwise. It came out & went back in just as easy, and I was able to remove any pet hair that was in the upper portion of the tank. I haven’t tried the attachments yet, but I really like the extended reach should I ever need to use it. The base swivels to get into those hard to reach places. After spending a small fortune on a Dyson that died after a few year, I said never again would I pay that much for a vac. Not only was this affordable, but it’s a DYNAMO! My carpet hasn’t looked this good in awhile (it’s extremely old & needs to be replaced). Best of all it gives back to help animals who really need it, so I wasn’t at all hesitant about purchasing it. While some people griped about it not having a frontal light, you really don’t need it when it picks up absolutely everything in it’s path. It is a bit on the loud side, but no more than any other upright, high suction vacuum. This is great for older people with arthritic hands as well, bc everything snaps in & out of place easily. It was a bit on the heavier side though, but I probably just had the floor setting too low (I just wanted the carpet cleaned, and didn’t really care about anything else, was in a rush lol O.C.D. on my part). Overall I would definitely buy it again. Great buy

Got this vacuum because have 2 long haired cats and 3 long haired People in my house. My old vacuum was getting the roller super clogged with fur and hair and not working well. Just used this for the first time and picked up so much fur and other yuck I had to dump it 1/2 way through vacuuming! When I finished only 1 string caught around the roller, no fur or hair! If it keeps working like this I’d give it 10/5 stars!

We have had a dyson animal ball 3 for several years. I bought this on special as my kids needed a vacuum upstairs. My son has a carpet that is so thick, the dyson doesn’t work on it. I saw that this had an adjustable level for the roller head and I figured I would give it a shot. WOW! this thing is a sucking monster! I was doubtful that the head would adjust that much, but it does! It is so powerful and thorough. We haven’t used our dyson since we got this beautiful monster. It works on my son’s carpet as well as a carpet we have on the main floor that the dyson just never cleaned very well. We used to vacuum it, then wipe it with a wet rag, then vacuum again as the hair would not come up until we wiped it. This vacuum is a one-shot deal where it cleans it so well we don’t have to do the extra work.
The manuverabilty is really great and it is light weight. Not sure how it will hold up with 6 cats, 2 dogs and a rabbit to clean up after… the dyson is durable but it just doesn’t work as well. For the price I paid, I figure if I can get 2 years out of it, it is a total win.
I don’t love the wand as much as the dyson. But it is easier to access than the dyson, and because it cleans so well, I use it much less than the dyson’s wand. THis wand is a bit short, but I love the tools it comes with. The little head that you attach to the wand works better than the dyson on our couch. It is a zippy little fellow that cleans pet hair pretty well.
Love the cord retractor. My only complaint about the cord is that it seems to get tangled a bunch around the vacuum when using it. Not sure if the dyson’s placement of the cord is the difference, but it seems to be more in the way.

The attached picture says it all.
I have one dog and three cats that all shed. I vacuumed my 8 x 10 area rug with my old vacuum before using this new Bissell Cleanview Swivel Rewind Pet Reach vacuum. Just look at all the pet hair it sucked out of an ostensibly clean area rug! Also note that there is no hair wrapped around the roller! It pushes easily and rhe swivel is very helpful. It is also much quieter than my old vacuum. It comes with extra attachments that I haven’t tried yet and an automatic cord rewind that is really nice. The hardest part of using this vacuum was getting it out of the box! If I could give this vacuum ten stars I would because five is just not enough!

    6. Amazon Customer –

Love this vacuum! Has a great wand for cleaning ceiling or around baseboards. Easy to clean and put back together. Has nice maneuverability with the swivel head. It isn’t heavy has about the same weight as others. The noise of the vacuum was less than our last one. The suction was just amazing when we used it for the first time, it had picked up so much more than our last vacuum ever had. Has nice handle to maneuver it around. It doesn’t have a headlamp but then again, we don’t vacuum in the dark, not really necessary. The extra tools that come with it hangs on the vacuum which is really convenient. I do like how the hose connects and easy to replace if ever needed. Well made and we would buy again and again.

I have used a Dyson for several years and it was great in its prime but had lost its effectiveness. With two resident dogs and occasional foster dogs plus daughters with long hair, well, it’s been an epic hair battle for years.

What I love: Hair doesn’t stick on the roller. Picks up anything on the floor, baseboards or ceiling for cobwebs spectacularly. Canister of hair, dander and dirt empties easily. Like the way the attachments go on. My old Dyson was a puzzle to get the attachments to stay – well- attached. Love the cord rewind so that’s neatly tucked away. Lightweight but powerful. Easy to move around

What I wish was different: could use a little longer cord. It’s generous but another 6-12 inches would be great.

If you have pets or kids or just dirty floors, buy this vacuum!

    8. Agatha Marie –

Great vacuum for the price and so easy to handle. The super long cord, (which by the way, retracts so quickly), and the ease of putting my new vacuum together are only part of my favorite features. It came with all the extra tools I normally would use and they fit right on the vacuum to always be handy. I did order separately, a box of two spare belts, just to be prepared if needed. I watched the videos of others who had ordered this same Bissel ClearView Swivel Rewind Pet Reach Vacuum Cleaner with Quick Release Wand and saw that most of them felt the vacuum was lightweight, whereas I must be somewhat weaker and thought it was not so lightweight, but I still can manage it and I love it in spite the weight.

I’ve owned several Bissell vacuums over the years. The last time I needed a new one, I cheaped out and decided to save the 20-30 extra for the cord rewind feature. I regretted that every time I used it because the previous one had it and I got used to it. I knew that feature was a must when choosing a new one this time.
What I didn’t expect was to find this cool wand feature! Absolutely love it! It’s much better than attaching a couple pieces together to reach difficult spaces – like air returns, cobwebs on the ceiling, or tight little spaces that are hard to reach. The combo crevice tool with built in brush is fantastic as well. No more changing attachments, just slide it up or down as needed. I’ve had some great vacuums but this is by far the best!

We have a Dyson stick model v-10 which works great, but I’m tired of vacuum part of the house, then having to charge it a couple hours so I can finish vacuuming. Several times we’ve had to charge it twice. With a dog, we also had to empty the dirt canister often.

Based on the above, I decided to buy a corded upright that we could use as the main vacuum, and would use the Dyson for spot cleaning. We had a Shark that was awesome, but after years of vacuuming with a dog, it stunk like dog and the house would smell like a wet dog when we used it. I tried a deep cleaning of it, but it didn’t help. I didn’t want to spend a lot if money on a vacuum, and after reading reviews and watching YouTube videos, I decided to get a Bissell. I wanted one with a nice wand for cobwebs and baseboards and, I narrowed it down to this model.

      CONS:
      * When the hight adjustment is set low enough to beat the carpet and get sufficient suction, it’s hard to push and maneuver. It’s actually quite the workout.
      * The second issue is that it doesn’t have an automatic hight adjustment. We vacuum the carpet at one hight, then have to lower it to vacuum the rugs. We don’t have to change the hight when doing the tile floors. The manual hight adjustment isn’t a big deal, it’s just a hassle when you’re fat and lazy.
      * It’s heavy!
      * There is no place to wind up the cord on the vacuum when the automatic rewind breaks.
      * The power cord connects to the bottom of the machine, which is a bit awkward as you always have to hold the cord up. If you drop the cord, it falls to the floor so you have to bend down each time to pick it up. Not a huge deal, unless your fat and lazy like me. In all corded vacuums Ive owned, the cord has always been connected, or had a way to place it towards the middle or closer towards the top of the handle.
      * I have a large rug which is shag. This vacuum will not work on this rug as the roller brush will not spin. If I knew that, I would have never purchased this model, although I don’t know if any of their other models would work. My Shark and Dyson both work fine on this rug.
      * The Biggest issue I have is that I only used this vacuum 4 times and the automatic rewind doesn’t work. It appears as I was vacuuming the cord extended too far and now it doesn’t rewind! There should be a safety stop so the cord can’t fully extend while you’re vacuuming or if you pull it out too far. There is a red stripe on the cord that tells you you’ve pulled it out too far, but that’s worthless as it’s too late by the time you see the red line! The rewind mechanism broke 2 days past the return date with Amazon!!!! I contacted Bissell and the rewind mechanism can only be fixed by a vacuum repair shop, and the closest one that does warranty work is 30 minutes away. I told Bissell I’d like to send it back and use the credit to purchase a better Bissell vacuum, but they will not accept that. So, I have to take it to the shop.

      PROS:
      * The suction is awesome. It’s every bit as good, if not better than our Dyson.
      * The large dirt canister is great, much better than the small canister on the Dyson. I can vacuum the entire house without emptying the container, unless I wait a few days too long in which case it needs to be emptied twice.
      * The wand extends far enough to reach the ceiling to get cobwebs and vents, and it’s easy to pull out and use.
      * The automatic cord rewind is nice, when it doesn’t break! I’ve never had one before and didn’t think it would be a big deal, but it’s nice to have, when it doesn’t break!

If I had a choice, I wouldn’t buy this vacuum again. If it wasn’t a workout to push, worked on my shag rug, and the automatic rewind didn’t break, it’s a decent vacuum for the price. For me, it’s worth paying an additional hundred dollars and buy a nice Shark as they’re rated one of the best. I would have bought the better Bissell if they were willing to allow me to return this, but they weren’t, even though I’ve only had it one month and used it 4 times, so I probably won’t ever buy a Bissell again.
